Alright, I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 3.8%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a real estate agent, 29, moved here 7 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in Old Town and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The safety situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for singles. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $70K-$80K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2015 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Phoenix about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is decent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I work in engineering here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is pretty good. No regrets on my end..
