Ives Estates in the winter -how bad?

We have two kids and Rent is about $1,979/month for a decent place. Median household income is $67,841, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 5.1%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Old Town area are decent. Kids love it here.
