Is Ivins worth it salary-wise?

With a population of 9,524, Ivins is a small town. Household incomes average around $72,263 in Ivins. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from New York about 9 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 45, moved here 4 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Sunset and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The dating scene situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for singles. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
