Brooklyn Carter housing

First time home buyer in Jackson

Hey, Been living here since 2010. Poverty rate is 18.4%, which is higher than I expected. It's a a small town city with about 6,222 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Would love some local perspective. Cheers. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The safety is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 10 years. Moved from Boston for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is tough - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Not very walkable outside downtown. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 9/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 6 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
