Dog-friendly places in Jackson?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I relocated for work and It's a a small town city with about 1,782 people. You can expect to pay around $540 for rent here. Median household income is $37,067, which feels on the lower side for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thoughts? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Baltimore about 15 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
