Jacksonville job market vs Houston

Hey folks, I'm retired and Poverty rate is 16.6%, which is higher than I expected. Median household income is $47,146, which feels on the lower side for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I overthinking this?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..
