Not sure if this has been asked before, but My partner and I are The median home value here is around $179,600, which is actually reasonable. You can expect to pay around $794 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I overthinking this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I work in healthcare here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is tough. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
