Affordable areas near Jacksonville?

Hey everyone, I'm originally from Chicago and Crime rate is something to consider -Jacksonville sits at 958.5 per 100K. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Does this match your experience? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much pricey but now it's solid.
