Job hunting in Jacksonville -tips?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Jacksonville sits at 958.5 per 100K. Homes are going for about $155,300 on average. Rent is about $913/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thoughts? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
