I'm currently renting in Springfield and trying to figure out my next move. I've never felt unsafe walking around Springfield at night.
With a population of 961,739, the city has a {city_feel}. I saw that rent in Springfield is now /mo which is expected.
The community in Springfield is really tight-knit. Cost of living is a bit more compared to where I came from.

Great question. Here's my honest take after 4 years:
The good:
- Friendly locals
- Safe neighborhoods
- Pet-friendly city
The not-so-good:
- Traffic is getting worse
- Wind never stops
The parks system here is underrated.. I'd say for couples, Jacksonville is solid. Hope that helps!

Great question. Here's my honest take after 7 years:
The good:
- Easy to meet people
- Diverse neighborhoods
- Good farmers markets
The not-so-good:
- Property taxes
- Tourist crowds
Traffic has gotten noticeably worse in the past year.. I'd say for students, Jacksonville is decent. Happy to answer questions.

Honestly it depends on what you prioritize. If affordability matters most, then yeah Jacksonville is great. But if you need nightlife, might want to look at Riverside instead.

Weekend warrior here - Jacksonville is hit or miss for kayaking. Grocery prices are creeping up but still manageable.

Renter's perspective: I could find cheaper but love the neighborhood. I'm in Murray Hill and it's pretty good. Definitely shop around though.
