Housing market in Jacksonville — is it worth buying?
Median home value here is around $266,100. Prices are reasonable compared to major metros. For those renting, typical rent is $1375.
Is now a good time to buy in Jacksonville? Or better to keep renting?
Looking for opinions from both homeowners and renters.

Rent tip: look for places in October-November. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

I'd add that healthcare options are better than most cities this size. Otherwise spot on!

The job market has been improving lately. Several logistics companies moved in recently.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

If you can afford it, Highland Park is the best place to live. Period.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is drive around neighborhoods at different times before committing. Makes a big difference.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 6/10.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 7 years and my experience is very similar.
