Housing in Jacksonville compared to Raleigh

Hey, Median household income is $54,069, which feels on the lower side for the area. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 3 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
