Jamestown is underrated, change my mind

Alright, My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $192,500 on average. Average temperature is around 41--F, so bundle up in winter. You can expect to pay around $741 for rent here. Poverty rate is 7.9%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $54,809 in Jamestown. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Low crime in most areas
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
Let me know your thoughts. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Dallas about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much wild but now it's underrated.
