I relocated for work and You can expect to pay around $755 for rent here. Median household income is $44,878, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $79,100 on average. The median home value here is around $79,100, which is actually reasonable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I've lived in Highland for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The weather scene is tough
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The walkability is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 4 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..
