Considering Janesville vs Atlanta -help me decide

OK so Homes are going for about $209,700 on average. Am I wrong here? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor recreation is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 2 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The housing market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 29, moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Sunset and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Decent public transit for the size
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The walkability situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for couples. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
