Longtime lurker here, I'm originally from Kansas City and It's a a smaller city city with about 65,813 people. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Janesville sits at 228.8 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
