Working remotely from Janesville

Anyone else feel this way? Median household income is $71,664, which feels about average for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 13 years. Moved from LA for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Dating scene is rough. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Riverside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- The food scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been in North for 1 years. Moved from Minneapolis for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Far from beaches/mountains. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Westside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The pet-friendliness scene is tough

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The outdoor recreation scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..
