Rent vs buy in Jasper -what makes sense?

Been meaning to ask this. Homes are going for about $252,700 on average. The median home value here is around $252,700, which seems about average. Household incomes average around $43,353 in Jasper. With a population of 4,374, Jasper is a small town. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Appreciate any input. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I'm a HR manager and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.
