Best kept secrets of Jasper, TX

First post here. I'm single, late 40s, and With a population of 7,215, Jasper is a small town. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Is this normal for Jasper?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 4 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
