I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor recreation is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Nashville about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is average.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..
