What I wish I knew before living in Jefferson City

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a 43-year-old HR manager and Poverty rate is 10.7%, which is around average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2018 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
