How are the schools in Jefferson City?

Hey folks, Homes are going for about $205,000 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Jefferson City sits at 170.9 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance! Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Chicago about 8 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps!.
