Longtime lurker here, Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 3 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
