Curious what people think. Military spouse here. It's a a small town city with about 12,313 people. Has anyone dealt with this?

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 14 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in South for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- The healthcare scene is tough
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
