Anyone else feel this way? My partner and I are The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $688/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $186,300, which is actually reasonable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thoughts? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much established but now it's hit or miss.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great craft beer places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- The traffic scene is improving
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely average and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (North) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
