Hello, Just moved here 15 months ago and Rent is about $1,090/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $208,500, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Hope this helps!.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
