Cheapest neighborhoods in Jeffersonville?

Hello, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $109,000 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Worth the trade-offs?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Raleigh about 14 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Springfield area are solid. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in East for 12 years. Moved from Austin for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Can feel isolated. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
