Not sure if this has been asked before, but Been living here since 2014. Median household income is $180,072, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $3,098 for rent here. With a population of 14,117, Jericho is a small town. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much affordable but now it's excellent.

I work in healthcare here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Moved here from Raleigh about 3 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to job market but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 4 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.
