Best things about Johns Creek that nobody talks about
As a 7-year resident, here are some things about Johns Creek that don't make it into the guides:
1. There are amazing hiking trails 20 min from downtown
2. Community events happen almost every weekend
3. The local craft beer scene is legit

I've lived in Highland Park for 3 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

Moved here last year. No regrets. The local food is incredible.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Oakwood and Downtown are perfectly safe.

Respectfully disagree about the safety concerns. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

Check out the Oakwood area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

I'd add that the parks here are amazing for families. Otherwise spot on!

Coming from Philadelphia, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

Don't sleep on Lakewood. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

I've lived in Downtown for 4 years and it's a hidden gem honestly.

As someone who moved here from Atlanta, I can confirm most of this. The cost of living surprised me the most.
