How is Johns Creek for outdoor activities?

Hey everyone, You can expect to pay around $2,173 for rent here. With a population of 82,115, Johns Creek is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Let me know your thoughts. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Moved here from Houston about 2 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to safety but Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for school and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The community vibe is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 36, moved here 1 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Old Town and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Decent public transit for the size
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The traffic situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for singles. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.
