How much do you pay for rent in Johns Creek?

I'm a college student here and With a population of 82,115, Johns Creek is a smaller city. You can expect to pay around $2,173 for rent here. Poverty rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $583,700 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
- Homelessness issues downtown
Appreciate any input. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 1 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for family and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The cultural scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Eastside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Limited entertainment options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
