I'm a social worker who relocated here from Houston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is tough.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.
