Remote worker thinking about Johns Creek

Hello, I'm retired and Homes are going for about $583,700 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I'm a HR manager and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is tough in most areas.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much established but now it's challenging.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 9 years. Moved from Seattle for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is average - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Limited shopping options. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 9/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
