Raising a family in Johnson Lane -thoughts?

Random thought, Crime rate is something to consider -Johnson Lane sits at 488.0 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 6,405 people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? Cheers.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely solid and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Sunset) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
