What Johnson Lane does better than anywhere else

Hello, Been living here since 2022. Poverty rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Johnson Lane sits at 488.0 per 100K. Homes are going for about $708,200 on average. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Uptown area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much established but now it's challenging.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from San Diego about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
