Day-to-day life in Johnsonville, SC

Not sure if this has been asked before, but The unemployment rate is 0.9%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Looking forward to hearing from you all. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Diverse dining options
- The weather scene is improving

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 45, moved here 15 years ago from Raleigh. I've lived in South and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Good airport with direct flights
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The food scene situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Raleigh, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- The healthcare scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
