Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 18,245 people. Homes are going for about $42,100 on average. With a population of 18,245, Johnstown is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Johnstown sits at 574.6 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Not very walkable
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Chain restaurants dominate

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
