Longtime lurker here, Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 53°F, so expect cold winters. It's a a mid-size city city with about 150K people. Median household income is $88,026, which feels pretty solid for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Joliet? Property taxes are high but you get good services.
