Hey everyone, My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $88,026, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 9.2%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cheers. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Fairview. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Denver about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
