Random thought, I work in automotive and Poverty rate is 9.2%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,237/month for a decent place. With a population of 150K, Joliet is a mid-size city. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Is this normal for Joliet? It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
