Moving to Joplin for work -advice?

Hey folks, I'm originally from Pittsburgh and Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $889 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
