Alright, It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Moved here from San Diego about 1 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to cultural scene but Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Westside for 6 years. Moved from Raleigh for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited shopping options. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a teacher and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 1 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Bought a house here in 2021 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Portland it's tough.
