The good and bad of living in Joshua

I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 0.9%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Thai.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
