Is Judsonia a good place to live?
So, I grew up here but left for a while. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $43,811, which feels on the lower side for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Judsonia sits at 605.8 per 100K. Poverty rate is 35.6%, which is higher than I expected. The unemployment rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
Pros:
- Friendly people
- Plenty of shopping options
- Active local events
Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- Far from major airports
Thanks for reading. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
