Best neighborhoods in Juneau
Anyone else feel this way? I'm a 47-year-old accountant and Would love some local perspective.

I've lived in South for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The nightlife scene is decent
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
