Things Juneau needs to improve

Hi all, Rent is about $1,462/month for a decent place. With a population of 31,969, Juneau is a smaller city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I overthinking this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
