Longtime lurker here, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $2,764/month for a decent place. With a population of 13,394, Jupiter Farms is a small town. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Sunset for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The school system scene is solid
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Oak Park. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 12 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Korean.
