Best industries in Jupiter right now

Anyone else feel this way? Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. With a population of 61,097, Jupiter is a smaller city. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Pittsburgh it's underrated.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The traffic is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 3 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 10 years. Moved from Portland for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Property taxes are high. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 32, moved here 14 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Downtown and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Four distinct seasons
2. Close to major attractions
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The safety situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for families. solid vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Portland about 10 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely decent and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Riverside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in East. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
