I'm originally from Tampa and The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. With a population of 106K, Jurupa Valley is a mid-size city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Anyone in a similar situation? Appreciate any input.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a chef, 32, moved here 6 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Eastside and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The housing market situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for retirees. solid vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$100K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I work in real estate here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.
