Kahului vs Memphis -which is better?

OK so Just moved here 18 months ago and Household incomes average around $92,062 in Kahului. It's a a smaller city city with about 27,068 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Kahului sits at 232.1 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation? The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
